Arrival Procedures

Standard Charter Period

The regular charter period starts at 9AM on day one of your charter and ends at 2PM on the last day of the charter. (See check out procedures)

Fishing

If anyone in your party plans on fishing, we suggest that you purchase your Washington Fishing License before you arrive. They can be purchased at any Wal-Mart and most sporting goods stores. We do not sell fishing licenses.

Groceries

Due to our check out time of 5-6pm, it is best if you bring your groceries with you. We suggest that if you decide to buy your groceries once you arrive here, that youdrop off your captain and first-mate, then go shopping. Check out needs to be finished before you can load belongings.

There are several excellent Super Markets in the area. Harvest Foods, located in Kettle Falls, is a well-stocked market with an excellent meat department. Super 1 Foods, Safeway, and Wal-Mart are located nine miles Southwest on Highway 395 in Colville.

Our Marina store offers limited groceries, ice, soft drinks, bottled water, beer, milk, fishing tackle and souvenirs.

Captain's Orientation, Loading and Occupancy of Houseboat

Our check-in procedures are designed to make your check-in a good experience for you. If done properly your Captain's orientation will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes and the loading and departure from the Marina another 45 minutes to an hour. In order to make this procedure as efficient as possible we suggest the following:

  1. Before you leave home, go to our web site and from the Houseboats drop down menu, select the houseboat you have rented and then click on Manual to download and print the file. Please read the manual and become familiar with the procedures before arriving at our facility. There are a lot of things in the manual that will be VERY helpful during your trip and possibly save you service calls.
  2. Make sure of your route to Kettle Falls. Please be aware that most web based mapping programs do not always provide the best or even most direct route. Keeping this in mind, please use the directions provided below or call us for more information. PLEASE DO NOT USE GPS TO GET TO OUR DESTINATION!!

    If you are coming from the:

    Seattle area:

    We suggest you take I-90 to exit 206 (just East of Moses Lake) then State Road 21 to Odessa, WA: Turn left on E Rosenoff Road, continue on WA21 (19 miles) , Turn Right on West 1st Avenue/SR 28 to Davenport (37 miles) Turn Right on Morgan St (US-2) and then Left on SR 25 to Kettle Falls (80 miles). Just past mile marker 80, after the Lake Roosevelt Camping, Marina, Boat Launch sign, before you get to Kettle Falls, turn left on Old Kettle Road, go approximately 3 miles, Turn left at the T. Make another right after you see the Lake Roosevelt Camping, Marina, Boat Launch sign. We are the second white building. If you go through Spokane it will take 1.5 hours longer.

    Portland, OR, Boise, ID, Salt Lake City, UT. Areas:

    We suggest you take I-84 to The tri cities (Richland, Kirkland, Pasco, WA) Merge onto I-82/Exit 179 Hermiston/Umatilla. Then merge onto US 395 Exit 113 towards I182 Kennewick/Pasco. Merge I-182E/US-12E.US-395 North to Spokane. Take US-395N/WA-397S exit 14. Merge US-395 Exit 14B on the left toward Spokane. Merge on I-90 towards Spokane. Take the Sprague Exit 245 to Highway 23 to Harrington. Once in Harrington take Hwy 28 to Davenport. Turn Right on Morgan St/US-2 Turn Left on WA-25. to Kettle Falls (80 miles). Just past mile marker 80, after the Lake Roosevelt Camping, Marina, Boat Launch sign, before you get to Kettle Falls, turn left on Old Kettle Road, go approximately 3 miles. Turn left at the T. Make another right after you see the Lake Roosevelt Camping, Marina, Boat Launch sign. We are the second white building. If you go through Spokane it will take 1.5 hours longer.

    Spokane, WA. Northern Idaho, Montana:

    From Spokane, take US 395 to Kettle Falls (85 miles), go through Kettle Falls. Just before the Lake Roosevelt River bridge, turn left on Boise Road. The Kettle Falls Marina is two miles on the right. Follow the Lake Roosevelt Camping, Marina, Boat Launch sign.

    Call us at 1-800-635-7585 in route and advise us on your estimated time of arrival, so we can plan your houseboats readiness around that time. IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE LATE PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED!

  3. Upon your arrival at the Marina:

  • Check in at the Houseboat Office and they will confirm your houseboat status.
  • You will be introduced to your customer relations person who will assist you with parking, loading procedures and introduce your Captain and First Mate to your check out Captain. The Captain and First Mate will accompany your check out Captain to the houseboat for a complete origination of the operation of the boat, completion of the Charter agreement, etc.
  • We ask that only two of your group accompany the check-out Captain on the origination of the houseboat. This saves redundancy and also allows the remainder of the group to prepare to load, obtain ice and other items from our Marina store or last minute shopping.
  • After the origination is complete our customer relations person will assist you in loading your houseboat utilizing our motorized "shuttle bug" service.
